Manchester has pulled out all the stops to mark Chinese New Year.

Thousands of locals flocked to the town centre to see off the Year of the Tiger behind and and welcome the Year of the Rabbit.

Celebrations this year included the much-anticipated return of the Dragon Parade - which has returned for the first time since the pandemic.

This procession travelled from Manchester Central all the way to Chinatown.

Performances, workshops and street food were available all day for people looking to immerse themselves in Chinese culture.

We spoke to Lisa Yam, President of the Federation of Chinese Associations of Manchester, about this year's celebrations.

She said: "We've tied the ribbon on the dragon's horn and tail to wake it up - so it can bless the town and every single person in Greater Manchester.

"We've now entering the Year of the Rabbit - which is actually a very lucky year, the zodiac rabbit is the luckiest animal.

"So we're hoping that this year will bring us all lots of luck."
