Bryan Robson's notorious injury jinx has struck again as the former United captain has been forced to pull out of managing the Manchester United 'legends' match this weekend.

The 60-year-old was due to be in the Old Trafford dugout for a charity match against a team of former Barcelona players.

Robson, who also captained the Three Lions, was plagued by injury during a distinguished playing career.

He has now had to withdraw from the role of manager this weekend as the Manchester United Foundation announced a re-occurrence of a previous injury leaves him sidelined.

"It is with great regret that Manchester United Ambassador, Bryan Robson has had to step down as manager of the Manchester United Legends team for their match against Barca Legends this weekend,'' the statement read.

"Bryan suffered a minor sporting injury earlier this year which has unfortunately returned, rendering him unable to attend tomorrow's charitable game in aid of Manchester United Foundation.''

Former United striker Andy Cole will now take over managerial duties for a team featuring the likes of Ruud van Nistelrooy, Park Ji-sung and Edwin van der Sar.

Barcelona's roll call includes Patrick Kluivert, Edgar Davids and Gaizka Mendieta with both sides commemorating the recent terror attacks in both Manchester and Catalonia.
