Two people have been arrested after a 14 year old boy was stabbed on a doorstep in Manchester.
At around 8pm yesterday (Monday 26 February 2024) - officers were called to reports of a stabbing at an address on Stovell Avenue.
It was reported that a 14-year-old boy had been stabbed and seriously injured after answering a knock at the door.
The boy was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Two people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in police custody.
An investigation has been launched and a scene remains in place as officers carry out their work.
Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Davies has described it as a sickening attack:
“This is a really sickening attack on a young boy which has left him in a critical condition in hospital.
“I would like to reassure the community that our investigation is progressing at a pace and this morning two people, a 15-year-old boy and a 41-year-old female, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
“Enquiries continue to piece together the full circumstances of what has occurred and who is involved in the attack. We believe this is a targeted attack and there is no risk to the wider public.
"We are appealing for anyone who may have been on or in the area of Stovell Avenue, Longsight at around 8pm on Monday evening (26 February 2024) and who may have witnessed anything suspicious or have information to share - including footage such as CCTV, mobile or dashcam to contact Police.
