Body found after emergency services called to Blackley

Police have confirmed a body has been found - after an emergency response was triggered in Blackley yesterday morning (1 February).

Officers were called out to the scene at about 9AM.

Greater Manchester Police told us: "At around 9am (Saturday 1 February 2025) we were called to Middleton Road in Blackley, Manchester.

"Sadly, upon arrival a body of a man was discovered.

"Enquiries have been continuing throughout the day to determine the full circumstances.

"Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 936 of 01/02/2025."

Fire crews were also called out to the scene.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Just after 9am yesterday morning (Saturday 1st February), two fire engines from Manchester Central and Whitefield, along with the Technical Response Unit from Ashton, attended an incident on Victoria Avenue, Manchester.

“Firefighters were in attendance for around an hour.”
