Two men and a woman have been taken to hospital after an armed siege in Stockport.
It started at 08:25 this morning (Wednesday 20th September 2017) and finished just after 17:00.
Greater Manchester Police have issued a statement saying:
"An armed siege in Woodley has come to a safe conclusion.
"Shortly after 8.25am today, Wednesday 20 September 2017, officers attended a property on Parry Mead in Woodley, searching for a man who was wanted on a recall to prison.
"A 39-year-old man inside the property, refused to engage with officers and was armed with weapons, believed to be a knife and a baseball bat.
"Shortly after 5pm today the situation was ended safely and peacefully.
"Two men and a woman have been taken to hospital for assessment.
"An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing."
