Armed police sent to Heywood

Armed police have been sent to Heywood following reports of a man with a firearm.

They were called to a house on High Street at 19:00 today (Tuesday 10th October 2017).

When officers arrived, they found a firearm and a man with serious stab wounds.

The man has been taken to hospital.

There are currently two scenes - one on High Street and the other on Albert Street.

An investigation's underway and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
