Appeal after puppy mauled to death in park

An appeal's been launched after a chihuahua puppy was mauled to death by a pitbull-type dog in a Manchester park.

The owner of the animal which carried out the attack is then said to have run away after it happened in Chorlton Water Park ahead of the Bank Holiday Weekend.

We're told Michelle Keifer had taken her puppy called Nimh for a walk on August 26 at 6.30pm when the attack happened.

She's been left devastated and told KEY103 she's worried the dog responsible - described as a grey pitbull type dog - will attack again.

She's now appealing for witnesses as the incident is being treated as a crime anyone with information can either contact police directly or via crimestoppers anonymously on the link below:
