Five-year-old seriously injured in Warrington crash

Police say the collision happened on Friday night

Police are appealing for witnesses and video footage following a serious collision in Warrington.

At around 9.35pm on Friday 30 August, police were called to reports of a collision on Birchwood Way, Warrington.

Officers attended the scene and found the collision involved two cars – a black Honda Jazz and a black Skoda Roomster.

Two occupants of the Honda, a 5-year-old boy and a 35-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries and are currently being treated in hospital.

The driver of the Skoda, a 25-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.

Enquiries in relation to the collision are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone with information which may aid their investigation.

Sergeant Jon Dixon said: “This was a serious collision which has left a woman and a child with serious injuries, and we’re committed to doing all we can to establish what took place.

“As part of our investigation, we are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage of it.

“We’re also keen to hear from anyone who thinks they may have any dashcam footage of the vehicles involved in the minutes prior to the collision.”
