43-year-old man arrested following knife point robbery in Tameside

A 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a knife point business robbery after being apprehended by two Greater Manchester Police officers in Dukinfield, Tameside.

The officers were on routine patrol in Tameside last night (7th December 2024), when they witnessed a man in all dark clothing running from an address on King Street.

The officers gave chase, during which the man turned and threatened them with a knife - no injuries were reported.

The man remains in custody for questioning in connection with the incident.

DCI Abdul Kahar of the Tameside district, said: "Knives have no place on our streets – they bring only violence and misery and we will continue to work tirelessly to remove them and hold any offenders to account.”
