100 new police recruits hit the streets of Greater Manchester
Officers give tours of the areas they'll be policing.
Police recruits across our region are being shown around the communities they'll serve today as part of their final training before taking on their new roles.
The officers already work within the force and will be replacing their colleagues who are retiring or moving on.
Police have been unable to add to their numbers due to budget restraints but are able to replace retiring officers.
It's hoped engaging new recruits with the communities they serve will give them a better understanding of the area's needs and help reduce response times.
