Taking to the stage to accept the big award of the night was Hits Radio’s Breakfast Show hosts Fleur East and James Barr, along with Drivetime’s Gemma Atkinson and Mike Toolan, Jordan-Lee, Stephanie Hirst and some of the team behind the award-winning radio network.

Gemma Atkinson commented “It’s so fantastic to be able to see Hits Radio recognised. Mike and I have an absolute ball every day with our listeners, they’re a part of the family!”

Highlights from the past year for the station included the sold-out Hits Live arena shows, the Summer Staycation with Fleur East, and giving away life-changing cash every weekday with Hattie Pearson on the Cash Register.

Elsewhere at Bauer Media, Absolute Radio’s The Dave Berry Breakfast Show won Best Music Breakfast Show and The John Myers Award for Best Local Station of the Year went to Clyde 1.

Hits Radio Programme Director Paul Gerrard shared his thoughts on the win, “We’re absolutely delighted to take home the award for the UK Station of the Year for Hits Radio. The whole team works incredibly hard to deliver the most entertaining radio for our amazing, loyal listeners and with so much more to come, we’re excited about the year ahead too!”
