On May 22nd at the Ariana Grande's concert at Manchester Arena, an appalling act of terror took the lives of 22 people and injured countless others physically and mentally.
Since then Manchester has mourned those we lost but also shown an incredible amount of solidarity and hope. In June, Ariana Grande returned to Manchester for the One Love Manchester concert which saw her bring together some of the most high profile musicians to raise money for victims. The show also helped those who had been in the crowd on that terrifying night in May find hope and enjoyment in music again.
On Saturday 9th September the We Are Manchester concert at the newly reopened Manchester Arena was another part of that healing process. There were some truly incredible highlights from a concert that featured performances from Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Pixie Lott, Blossoms, The Courteeners, Rick Astley, Bugzy Malone and Nadine Coyle, as well as a moving speech by comedian Peter Kay and Tony Walsh reading his poem 'This Is The Place'.
Here are just some of the highlights from this amazing night of music in Manchester:
The chills we got when the crowd sang 'Don't Look Back In Anger' as Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds headlined the show:
The song has become a poignant anthem and this moment was just an incredible show of Manchester's solidarity:
The Courteeners put on an incredible show, here's 'Not Nineteen Forever' and the crowd loving it:
Comedian Peter Kay used his speech to focus on staying positive by saying "We can't let terrorists win" and that we have "got to remember the good times and not let them outweigh the bad".
We caught up with singer Pixie Lott to find out what it is she loves about performing in Manchester:
We heard an amazing amount of positivity from the fans who wanted to show their support and honour those who lost their lives but also prove that "We are Manchester, we are strong and we are not going anywhere".
We also spoke to Megan who attended the Ariana Grande concert and decided to go back to Manchester Arena for the We Are Manchester show. She told us how it felt to be back:
Our reporter Amy Scarisbrick was backstage and caught up with Blossoms ahead of their performance:
After the show fans continued to sing 'Don't Look Back In Anger':
Darryl Morris was live on Key 103 telling the stories of concert goers, playing interviews and of course broadcasting the concert in full:
We closed the show with a mix of Ariana Grande's 'One Last Time', voices from those affected by the events back in May and Tony Walsh's poem 'This Is The Place':
