Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage following a violent incident in Ilford, which has left a woman critically injured.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service at 14.08hrs to a report of a woman attacked with an axe inside a residential address in Princes Road.

Officers attended along with paramedics from London Ambulance Service.

A woman, aged 53, was found seriously injured. She was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

Detective Inspector Sean Treweek, leading the investigation, said:

“If you have any information relating to the incident including any dashcam footage from Princes Road, Dukes Road or Crown Road from Friday afternoon, please call police on 101 quoting reference 3935/09Apr."
