Whitehall closed due to serious gas leak

Police say Whitehall has been closed this morning (27 February) due to a serious gas leak.
The area is expected to remain shut for some time.
The Met Police say they are making alternative arrangements for planned protests that are due to take place this afternoon.
Demonstrators protesting the Russian invasion are expected to gather outside Downing Street this afternoon.
