A man is fighting for his life following an altercation on Westminster Bridge in central London,.
The Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service were called to the scene at about 10.43am on Sunday (November 24th) to reports of a fight on the bridge - right by the Houses of Parliament.
Initially, when responders arrived, they believed a man had suffered a stab wound following the altercation, but this was later deemed not to be the case.
Instead, the force has now said that the man suffered a cardiac arrest; investigations are now underway to find out how he came to suffer with the illness.
The man was taken to hospital shortly after the arrival of the Ambulance Service, including air ambulances.
He currently remains in a critical condition in hospital as enquiries into the incident continue.
Three people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and another has been arrested on suspicion of affray.
It is understood the incident is not being treated as terror-related.
Two of those arrested were taken to hospital with minor facial injuries, the Met said.
Police are now keen to hear from anyone who was on the bridge at the time of the incident to get in touch as soon as possible.
