Two in court after double Christmas Day stabbing

Police are investigating after two people were stabbed in east London on Christmas Day

Officers were called to Brick Lane in Bethnal Green at 6.30am where a man and woman had been injured.

The man, aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital for treatment to a stab injury – his condition is not life threatening. A woman, also aged in her 40s, was also taken to hospital for treatment to a stab injury – she was not seriously injured.

Both people received their injuries following an altercation in Code Street, E1 at around 05:30am

Two men aged 39 and 42 have been charged with GBH and are due in court today.
