Tributes to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Tributes are being paid to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II who has died at the age of 96.

In a statement, the Royal Family said the Queen passed away peacefully at Balmoral

The London Mayor Sadiq Khan has praised her unrivalled grace, dignity and purpose in a statement.

London's Air Ambulance Charity have also offered their condolences. In a statement they said;

"We are deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty The Queen. It has been a privilege to serve London under Elizabeth II whose reign spans twice our Charity’s lifetime.

The Royal Family have been greatly supportive of air ambulances in the UK and continue to be, with The Duke of Cambridge serving as Patron of our Charity following his frontline deployment as a pilot with East Anglian Air Ambulance.

In memory of Her Majesty, we are sharing an image from her visit to our helipad shortly after the 7/7 bombings in recognition of our team's contribution during the Capital's emergency medical response.

Our sincere condolences go to the Royal Family & everyone grieving at this difficult time."

London's Transport Commissioner, Andy Byford and his team has also made a statement...

“It is with great sorrow that we have learnt of the death of Her Majesty The Queen. We send our deepest sympathy to His Majesty The King and all members of the Royal Family.”

Paying tribute to Her Majesty The Queen, Sandy Dudgeon, Senior Steward of The Jockey Club, said:

“I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, other members of the Royal Family and all those affected by the death of Her Majesty The Queen.

“Her Majesty’s optimism about our future and her fortitude in the face of adversity was an example to us all. She was such a wonderful supporter of the sport of horseracing throughout her life, including as our Patron, and we will feel her loss most deeply indeed.”
