Teen charged with Christmas Eve murder of woman in Southwark

A 16 year old boy has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a woman in Southwark on Christmas Eve

Police were called at around 10pm on the 24th Dec to reports of a 22 year old woman who'd been stabbed at a property in Jamaica Road

Officers went there with paramedics, but despite treatment Kacey Clarke died at the scene.

Her family are aware and continue to be supported by specially trained officers. They have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time.

A post-mortem examination gave cause of death as a single sharp force trauma to the chest.

A 16 year old is due to appear at Croydon Magistrates today

Detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation.
