Around 100 people gathered for a demonstration protesting against Donald Trump becoming President of the United States for the second time.

The protest, organised by Stand Up to Racism, was held outside of Downing Street, meeting moments before Donald Trump was sworn in as president.

Samira Ali is from Stand Up to Racism and helped to organise the protest. She says Donald Trump will have an impact in the UK.

"We think it is shameful that people like David Lammy, who once stood with us against Trump, are now on the side of Trump.

"Particularly people like Nigel Farage, who is attending his Inauguration, is cheering from the side lines".

Also at the protest was April, who is from West Pennsylvania. She said she felt like she had to join the protest.

"All of his pre-election campaign threats. He now has the money and power to enact those threats.

"I am not as scared as I am angry, but I am also hopeful because i know there are a lot of young people who won't buy into this.

"A lot of people, maybe middle aged or older, who have not coped with the idea that America is no longer the guard dog of the world. America has to share power with other countries".
