Murder investigation launched in east London

A man's been arrested following a fatal stabbing in Waltham Forest.

A murder investigation has been launched following a fatal stabbing in Waltham Forest.

Police were called out to South Birkbeck road at 23:15 on Thursday, 18 April, following reports of a fight.

Officers attended and found a man suffering stab injuries. They provided emergency first aid alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.

Despite their efforts, the man, who is believed to be in his 30's died at the scene.

His next of kin are yet to be informed.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

A crime scene remains in place.

One man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He has been taken to an east London police station where he remains in custody.
