Murder Investigation launched in Wembley

A murder investigation's been launched after a man was fatally stabbed in Wembley in north west London

Police were called to Cromwell Road yesterday just before 12pm where they found a 72 year old man with a stab wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene

Another 72 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently being held at a police station in north London.

Police tell us they believe this is an isolated incident, but are urging anyone with dash can or doorbell footage to get in touch.

Detective Superintendent Tony Bellis, leading local policing in Brent, said:

“Residents will notice a more visible police presence in the coming days, not only at the scene, but also to provide reassurance to the community following this tragic incident.

“We fully understand that violence, such as this, sends shockwaves through the community and I urge anyone with concerns to approach officers on patrol or contact their local neighbourhood team.“
