Man charged with Ilford murder

A man will appear in court on Monday charged with the murder of Billy Keegan in Ilford.

30 year old Muhamed Nur Osman, of Knight Close, Dagenham is due to appear on Monday, 7 October at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court charged with murder and ABH.

Police were called around 01.05hrs on Friday, 4 October to reports of a stabbing in Chapel Road, Ilford.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found 50-year-old Billy Keegan suffering from a stab injury in the corridor of a block of flats.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, Billy was pronounced dead at 01:30hrs.

The investigation is being led by detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command.

Three men were arrested shortly after on suspicion of murder. They were later released no further action.

Osman was arrested on Saturday, 5 October on suspicion of murder. He was later charged as above.
