Man charged with murder of woman in south London
Gemma Devonish died from stab wounds at a home in Carshalton on Thursday
A man has been charged with the murder of a woman who died in a stabbing at a home in south London.
Emergency services were called to the Nutfield Close area of Carshalton on Thursday morning.
They found 42 year old Gemma Devonish, who sadly died at the scene.
38-year-old James Madden, who was known to Gemma, was arrested in the early hours of Friday 20th December.
Today (Saturday 21st December) he was charged with her murder and will appear in custody at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Monday 23rd December.
Detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with their investigation - and they're awaiting the results of a post-mortem.
