Man charged with manslaughter after death of Warwickshire man in Southwark
Michael John Edwards, 43, died in hospital four days after the alleged assault

A man has been charged with manslaughter following the death of a Warwickshire man in Southwark in September.
Officers were called at 02:55hrs on Saturday, 13 September to reports of a disturbance involving a group of men.
Police attended the scene with the London Ambulance Service and a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
He died in hospital on Wednesday, 17 September and has since been named as Michael John Edwards, 43 from Nuneaton in Warwickshire.
Police say his family continue to be supported by specialist officers.
Lewis Macleod, 36, of Hadleigh Road, Sunderland appeared at Inner London Crown Court on Monday, 13 October where he was charged with manslaughter in connection with Michael’s death.
He had previously been charged with one count of causing grievous bodily harm.
A trial will begin at Inner London Crown Court on Monday, 13 April 2026.
