Man charged with murder after death of Bethnal Green pensioner
73-year-old Sufia Khatun was found with a serious head injury on Thursday night
A man has been charged with murder after a pensioner was found with a serious head injury on Thursday night.
Police were called to an address on Russia Lane at 9pm, by the London Ambulance service, where a 73-year-old woman died at the scene.
She has since been named as Sufia Khatun. Her next-of-kin are being supported by officers and a post-mortem is yet to take place.
45-year-old Mizanur Rahman was charged with murder on Friday 15 August.
He's due to appear at Thames Magistrates Court today.
