A special mural's been created in Shoreditch to celebrate LGBTQI+ communities

It's been unveiled ahead of London's Pride celebrations this weekend and is part of the London Mayor's Loved and Wanted campaign

The mural has been designed by community artist Hannah ‘Disco’ Dickins to speak directly to the LGBTQI+ communities, reaffirming that they are valued, celebrated, and wanted in the capital.

The mural can be found at Turville Street, Shoreditch, and will be live until 20 July.

Deputy Mayor for Communities & Social Justice, Dr Debbie Weekes-Bernard, said:

“This stunning new Loved and Wanted mural by Disco Dickins has been created to send a powerful message. While some are trying to roll back hard-won rights across the globe, this mural shows that LGBTQI+ Londoners are loved, valued and celebrated in our capital. London is proud to be a beacon of inclusiveness, acceptance and diversity, and we will continue to support all of our communities, as we build a better, fairer and more inclusive London for everyone.”
