Londoners arrested over burglary reported in Gloucester
Police disturbed a group in the city centre this morning.
Nine men with links to London have been arrested following a reported burglary at a commercial property in Gloucester in the early hours of this morning (Sunday 13 April).
Gloucestershire Police were called shortly after 5am with a report that a group of men in hi-vis clothes and balaclavas were taking items from an address on Russell Street and loading them on to a van.
When the officers arrived, the police say several men ran off on foot while the van made off from the scene.
The van was later spotted by officers who were able to bring it safely to a stop near to Hartpury. Three men, all from London, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and remain in police custody.
Leg injury
A further two men, also from London, who ran from the scene were stopped by officers and arrested. One man was taken into custody while the other was taken to hospital after injuring his leg while trying to evade officers.
Four more men have been arrested by the Metropolitan Police in London this morning in connection with the burglary.
All the men are in police custody while enquiries continue.
