Nuns in south London are to turn part of their convent into flats for key workers like nurses and teachers

Sisters of the Holy Family Convent say they want to make better use of the Grade II listed property in Stockwell and have submitted an application to Lambeth Council

The nuns would live next door to the proposed apartment building if the £2million conversion goes ahead.

Albert Square is one of Stockwell's most expensive streets with the large Victorian terraces selling for millions. In 2021 a five bed detached house sold for £3.25.

The square's Grade-II listed terraces were built between 1846-1849. They are 10 minutes from Stockwell tube station.
