Cyclist dies after colliding with bus in fatal crash on the Isle of Dogs

A man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene following the incident

A cyclist has died after colliding with a red bus on the Isle of Dogs in central London.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police were alerted to an incident taking place on Westferry Road, close to Arnhem Place at 12:28am on Saturday morning (November 23rd).

The collision was attended to by Met Police officers, as well as responders from the London Ambulance Service.

When emergency services arrived at the scene, they found a bus had crashed into a cyclist, requiring immediate medical attention.

Paramedics performed live-saving techniques to the man, but despite their best efforts, the man - who was in his 40s - died at the scene.

Investigations into the man's death are now ongoing, as enquiries are launched to locate the man's next-of-kin.

The driver of the bus stopped at the scene and helped officers with their enquiries; no arrests have been made following the crash.

Officers from the Met Police's Roads and Transport Policing Command are looking into the collision.
