Police release image of man they want to speak to following Newham stabbing

Detectives have released the name and image of a man they want to speak to following a stabbing in Newham.

Police were called out on Wednesday, 31st January to a residential address in Oakfield Road, E6 to reports a woman had been stabbed.

She was taken to an east London hospital, where thankfully her injury was assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.

Following extensive enquiries police have released details of a man they want to speak to.

He and the victim are believed to be known to each other.

Catalin Bostan, 46 is a Romanian national and is described as approximately 5ft 8” tall and of stocky build.

He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, burgundy trainers and a black coat with a white stripe.

Officers believe he could be sleeping rough in the Barking or East Ham areas.

Anyone who sees him is advised to call 999 immediately - he should NOT be approached.
