Police are appealing for information after two men were found dead in Elthorne Road on Thursday night.
Additional police officers will be on the streets of Islington following the fatal stabbing of a teenager and a man in his 20's
The 15 and 23 year olds were found with injuries after emergency services were called to Elthorne Road at 11:33pm on Thursday.
The 15-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, whilst the 23-year-old died later in hospital.
The two victims are yet to be formally identified, but police say their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
The police also asked the family's privacy be respected.
A third man, aged 28, was taken to hospital with stab wounds, where his condition is being reported as not life-threatening.
"Cooperation and assistance of residents" important to investigation
Superintendent Jack May-Robinson, said the police were working to "identify and apprehend those involved."
He thanked residents for their "cooperation and assistance" in investigations so far, praising the "rich community and spirit" of the area.
Supt May-Robinson urged residents to approach officers if they had any "worries, concerns or information," adding that residents can do so anonymously.
He added that officers had been granted Section 60 powers to conduct more stop-and-search, and that extra patrols had been authorised.
He also refused to speculate on reports that a music video was being filmed at the time, saying that more information would be provided as investigations progressed.
In a statement he said:
"It saddens me to tell you that a boy and young man were fatally stabbed last night in Elthorne Road here in Islington.
"The families of both victims have been notified and they continue to be supported by specialist officers. I ask that their privacy be respected as they try to come to terms with unimaginable loss.
"We are working closely with our Specialist Crime colleagues who are conducting fast time enquiries to identify and apprehend those responsible.
"A Section 60 Order granting officers additional stop and search powers has been authorised and additional patrols will be conducted to provide reassurance to the community. Please approach those officers if you have worries, concerns or information.
"I urge anyone with information concerning this incident to get in touch. We are committed to working with our borough partners to tackle street violence, but we can’t do this alone – if you can help this investigation please get in touch.
"We know that some people, particularly youngsters, may be hesitant to come forward with information, but you can share what you know anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers who will not even ask for your name."
Residents considering moving away
Floral tributes have been left by those wishing to pay their respects with many saying they are shocked by the stabbings, with some saying they feel unsafe in the area.
One resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, said
I want to "move out this area, and live outside London,".
Police are urging anyone with information to call 101 or tweet @MetCC, using the reference CAD 9383/29 Jun.
