15 year old shot in east London
Police say it's sheer luck that no-one died
A 15 year old boy has been shot in east London
It happened in Southwark just after 11pm last night.
Officers say it's sheer luck they've not had to launch a murder investigation after a fourth shooting in the capital in just over two weeks
The teen was hurt on Sumner Road and we're told that his injuries are not thought to be life threatening
Detective Inspector Ray Sekalongo, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said:
“It is sheer luck that this is not a murder investigation and I am very keen to hear from anyone who has information or footage relating to this incident.
“Removing guns from our streets is a priority for the Met. The injuries caused by guns are often devastating and the effects of being a victim of gun crime linger far beyond the healing of wounds.
“This was an attempt on the life of a 15-year-old boy and I know that there are people who can name the person responsible. Please help us remove guns from your streets by sharing what you know.”
No arrests have been made so far.
