Radio City News went to Bristol recently to unite two mums who have lost a child because of old, unsafe tyres.

18.year old Michael Molloy died in 2012 in a crash involving a coach with a 19-year-old tyre.

Following his death his mum Frances launched the Tyred campaign to get old tyres banned off vehicles used to transport the public.

After years of campaigning Frances was given hope when she was informed of government plans to bring in changes via consultation. More than a year after those promises and the changes still haven't been made.

In 2017 another family at the opposite end of the country were also left devastated when an old tyre blew out on a lorry on the M5. The lorry crossed the central reservation and hit two cars killing five people.

Adrian Beaumont was one of those killed instantly, his partner Rebecca Mitchell died six months later from her injuries. Their two children survived but were left with life changing injuries.

We wanted to unite Frances with Pauline Mitchell, Rebecca's mum, in the hope that bringing together the two grieving mums it could send a powerful message to Transport Secretary Grant Shapps.
