Two arrested following shooting in Wirral
There were no reports of injuries or damage.
Two men have been arrested after a shooting in Wirral on Tuesday 26 March.
At around 10.30pm, officers were called to New Chester Road in New Ferry to reports of shots being fired at 10.05pm.
There were no reports of any injuries or damage caused in the area after officers carried out CCTV, house-to-house and witness enquiries.
Officers investigating the incident arrested two 19-year-old men from Eastham and New Ferry on suspicion of Possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Both were taken to a police station in Merseyside and have since been released on bail.
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Roberts said:
“Although our officers have now made two arrests after what was an incredibly reckless crime that left a community in shock, we are continuing to appeal for anyone with information to please come forward.
“We maintain that this was a targeted incident and our enquiries into the full circumstances of the crime are ongoing.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has CCTV or doorbell footage, or any information which could help us with our enquiries is asked to contact police. Likewise, any motorists who were in the area that may have captured the incident on dashcam footage, please get in touch.”
