Teen hurt in reported Wirral stabbing
Police say his condition is serious but stable
An investigation is underway on the Wirral, after a teenager was reportedly stabbed yesterday evening (10th August).
Police were sent to Park Street in Liscard just after 6.30pm.
The 15-year-old boy had suffered an injury to his torso, and was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Detectives believe the offender, a man in his 30s or 40s, made off on foot towards Liscard Park.
DI Dave Sung said: "At this early stage we are looking to establish the exact circumstances of what appears to have been a targeted attack.
"The consequences could have been far more serious and we are keen to hear from anyone we haven’t already spoken to who may have information.
"If you live nearby and may have captured what happened on CCTV or other devices, please check and get in touch as this could be key to finding the man responsible."
Officers say a scene remains on Park Street as forensic enquiries are carried out and they are exploring CCTV opportunities and making house to house enquiries.
"We are determined to take knives off our streets and reduce knife crime in Merseyside," Det Insp Sung added.
"People who carry knives and use them to threaten or hurt others do not belong in our communities.
"We will continue to use all our available powers to stop and search those we suspect are in possession of weapons which can cause fear and harm, arrested them and carry out warrants and searches where information suggest they are being stored."
