A teenager has been arrested after what Merseyside Police are describing as an 'altercation' on Friday evening (May 2nd).

The incident is reported to have happened at Maghull Cricket Club, and have involved a 'large group of youths'.

Officers received the reports at around 7:30pm, when this group came together at the club's field on Old Hall Lane.

Some of the young males were reported to have been carrying weapons, and then began fighting with each other.

They then made off towards Liverpool Leeds canal and no injuries were reported.

Merseyside Police last night said: "Today, Sunday 4 May, officers have arrested a 14-year-old male from Maghull on suspicion of affray, possession of weapon in a public place and possession of a controlled Class B drug, cannabis. He is still in police custody to be questioned.
