Detectives investigating the murder of Rikki Berry in Kirkby have released photos of a 'vehicle of interest'.

The vehicle, a black Seat Ateca Cupra, was seized in Prescot on Friday 19 July and has been forensically recovered.

Merseyside Police want to speak to anyone who has seen the vehicle, particularly on Wednesday 17 July, or has CCTV, dashcam or a doorbell camera which may have captured it.

DCI Cath Cummings said:

"Our enquiries are moving at a fast pace and we have made a number of arrests in connection with Rikki’s murder.

"As part of our enquiries we seized a black Seat Ateca Cupra on Friday and we now need the public’s help in tracing the movements of the car prior to the murder and afterwards.

"I would ask anyone living in or around the Prescot area to check their dash cams, CCTV or doorbell cameras to see if they captured the car.

"Any little piece of information could be vital so please send any information, images and footage to us directly via: Public Portal (mipp.police.uk).

"You can also message us via @MerPolCC on social media, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting reference 24000624806."

Rikki died last week after being shot on Quarryside Drive in Kirby.

A 20-year-old man was arrested last week on suspicion of murder - he has since been conditionally bailed pending further enquiries.

Four other people were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender - they've also been released on bail.
