Police investigating Rikki Berry murder make four more arrests

They were detained on suspicion of assisting an offender

Detectives investigating the murder of Rikki Berry in Kirkby have arrested four people and seized a vehicle.

The 36-year-old was shot on Quarryside Drive in broad daylight on Wednesday.

At around 10.40am yesterday (Friday 20 July) a vehicle of interest was found in the Prescot area and has been forensically seized.

The following people were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender:

A 19-year-old woman from Prescot

A 15-year-old boy from Prescot

A 22-year-old man from Prescot

A 50-year-old woman from Prescot

All four were taken to police stations and have since been released on bail.

Detective Chief Inspector Cath Cummings, the Senior Investigating Officer, said:

“Our investigation is making progress but I want to emphasise that we still need to speak to anyone who has yet to come forward, and as soon as possible."

A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody.
