Police car involved in crash in Birkenhead

A woman has been arrested following a crash involving a police car in Birkenhead late last night.
At around 11.15pm on Wednesday 12 November, emergency services rushed to Conway Street after reports of a collision between a Mercedes A Class and a police vehicle that was heading to an emergency call.
Both the police car driver and a passenger from the Mercedes were taken to hospital for checks.
They suffered only minor injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 34-year-old woman from Rock Ferry, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
She has been released under investigation while officers carry out further enquiries.
Conway Street and surrounding roads were closed for several hours, reopening at around 4am.
