First photos emerge of "much-loved" grandfather stabbed to death in Liverpool
Paul Foster was stabbed in West Derby in the early hours of Tuesday 15 October
The family of a "much-loved" grandfather have released an emotional tribute to him after he was stabbed to death in Liverpool.
Emergency services rushed to Muirhead Avenue in West Derby in the early hours of last Tuesday (15 October), where 47-year-old Paul Foster was found injured.
He was taken to hospital, and died a short time later.
In a tribute, his family said: “Paul was a much-loved son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and a true friend to many. He was known for his sense of fun and infectious smile.
“He was a kind-hearted and funny man who would light up any room. He will be sorely missed, but never forgotten by his heart-broken family and friends.”
Last week (Tuesday 15 October) detectives arrested three women on suspicion of murder, including a 24-year-old woman from Anfield, a 49-year-old woman from West Derby and a 38-year-old woman from Litherland.
They have been bailed pending further enquiries being carried out.
Police are issuing a fresh plea for information alongside the tribute.
Detective Chief Inspector Steve McGrath, who is leading the investigation, said: “The investigation is making progress and although three arrests have been made, we urge anyone with information which can help with our inquiries to contact us.
"Any assistance, no matter how small, could be vital to finding Paul’s killer and bringing them to justice and provide his family with answers."
