Four charged with the murder of a woman on the Wirral in 2022
Jacqueline Rutter was shot dead on her doorstep in Moreton
Four men have been charged with the murder of Jacqueline Rutter, who was fatally shot in Wirral in 2022.
Jacqueline died at the age of 53 after being shot in the chest on Meadowbrook Road, Moreton, at around 1am on Sunday 30 October 2022.
The force believed the attack was targeted.
Eight people have been arrested in the last two years and now, following a lengthy and complex investigation, the following men have been charged with murder:
• Simon Allen, 54, of no fixed abode
• James Byrne, 23, of no fixed abode
• Barrie Glynn, 46, of Westway, in Heswall
• David Harrison, 58, of Old Meadow Road, in Pensby
The men have also all been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life/enable another to do so and possession of ammunition with intent to endanger life/enable another to do so.
A fifth person - Anna McGinn, 25, of Frankby Stiles, in Birkenhead – has also been charged with two counts of assisting an offender.
They are all due to appear at Liverpool Magistrate's Court tomorrow, Thursday 10 April.
