Major road closed after woman hit by car in Huyton
Police were called to Liverpool Road in the early hours of Wednesday morning (16 January)
A major road is closed in Huyton after a woman was hit by a car.
Police have confirmed they were called to Liverpool Road at around 04:40GMT on Wednesday (16 January).
The road remains closed in both directions between Blue Bell Lane and the M57.
Officers have confirmed the car stopped at the scene.
Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson said: "As a matter of urgency, we would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or was passing by at the time and may have captured anything on dashcam or other devices.
“Road closures will remain in place for a significant time as officers carry out the initial stages of this investigation.
"Motorists are advised to find an alternative route. Thank you for your patience."
