Man stabbed during "large scale disorder" in Toxteth

A man has been stabbed in the chest and another left with cuts to his face in a knife attack which took place during "large scale disorder" in Toxteth.
Police closed off a large area around Granby Street at around 2100GMT on Tuesday (04 March), following reports of violence.
It is understood officers are still searching for those responsible and have been given extra stop and search powers throughout Wednesday (05 March).
Extra patrols are being carried out around Upper Parliament Street, Lodge Lane, Sefton Park Road, Ullet Road, Park Road to the junction with Upper Parliament Street.
Inspector Stuart McLoughlin said: "Our officers will ensure that there is a highly visible police presence to reassure people in the Toxteth area following incidents of criminality and violence.
"The Section 60 order allows us to stop and search people suspected of carrying weapons or planning any criminality. It is not intended to disrupt people going about their daily business."
Police are asking to speak to anyone who witnesses what happened in Toxteth, and are also looking through CCTV and dashcam footage..
