Investigation launched after woman found dead in Netherton

Police investigating after the sudden death of a woman in Netherton.

Officers were called just after 6.10pm yesterday, Sunday 16 March, by the North West Ambulance Service, following concern for a woman in her 30s at a property on Merchant Close.

The woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a post-mortem will take place to establish the cause of death.

The woman’s next of kin are aware.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of breaching a domestic violence protection order and controlling and coercive behaviour.
