Police introduce extra stop and search powers in Netherton and Bootle
Officers said it was to "prevent incidents of disorder and criminality"

Additional stop and search orders have been introduced in areas of Netheron and Bootle, giving officers powers to search people who are suspected criminals.
The order in Netherton is in place from 2.30pm on Friday 21 March, and will stay active until 2.29pm on Saturday 22 March.
The order in Bootle is in place from 3pm on Friday 21 March, and will stay active until 2.59pm on Saturday 22 March.
The orders have been introduced to prevent incidents of disorder and criminality, officers said.
The Orders, under S60 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, gives officers enhanced powers to stop and search individuals in the area, specifically males appeared to be between 16 and 50, and is designed to minimise serious violence.
The Order in Netherton incorporates the area as follows (first map): Northern Perimeter Road, Dunningsbridge Road, Barnfield Close, Swifts Lane, Edge Lane, and Buckley Hill Lane.
