Deadline looming to register to vote in general election
People across Merseyside have until 23:59 on Tuesday 18 July
There are just a matter of hours left for people across Merseyside to vote ahead of next month's general election.
Anyone who isn't already on the register by 23:59 will not be eligible to have their say on who'll represent them after 4 July 2024.
Since the election was called on 22 May, around two million applications to vote have been submitted.
The most on a single day was 330,621 on 13 June.
Around a third of applications submitted between 23 May and 16 June were by people aged 25 to 34, with a further 25% from people under 25, according to analysis by the PA news agency.
Craig Westwood, director of communication, policy and research at the Electoral Commission, said:
"Only people who are registered can have their say, so don't delay.
"Registering to vote is quick and easy - all you need it your name, date of birth, address, and national insurance number.
"People who have been on the register but recently moved home or changed other details will need to register to vote again."
People also have to show a form of photo ID - a passport, driving licence or blue badge are valid.
Applications to vote by post need to be submitted by 5pm on 19 June.
