A Liverpool youth worker wants more education about what young people do and see online, after millions were able to see the shooting of Charlie Kirk in America.

Camera footage of the incident was quickly posted on social media and spread within minutes, with no warnings on the videos about how graphic it was.

David Brereton said:

"In regards to some of the content that young people can see online, I think we've got to do education around that.

"I think it's difficult to actually stop what people are sharing if people are livestreaming, but what we've got to do is try and do some education around that.

"What we're seeing the impact of that is that young people are becoming desensitised to violence and it's almost becoming normalised in some people's thinking, in terms of being able to view violent content online.

"A lot needs to be done around the education of that - what tis inappropriate to post, what isn't inappropriate, what's true, a critical thinking eye is always useful on things that are seen online.

"I think the major impact we're seeing is that people are becoming desensitised. They're seeing that many things, they're exposed to that many acts of violence globally, I think that's one of the major issues."
