Three arrested in Bourne as police launch a murder investigation

Three people including a 16-year-old boy have been arrested following the death of a man in Bourne.

Police have launched a murder investigation.

Emergency services and armed officers were called to the South Street area around 10 o clock last night following reports of an incident with a knife.

There they discovered an injured man in his 30's who died at the scene shortly afterwards.

Extra patrols are being carried out

Three arrests have been made, a 16-year-old boy and two men aged 19 and 20 on suspicion of murder.

It's believed all those involved were known to each other.

Lincolnshire Police have said:

"His family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

"Specially trained officers are with them and supporting them.

"The area has been secured and investigations into the incident are ongoing."

Officers will remain at the scene as they attempt to piece together what happened last night.

The police are asking members of the public to avoid the area

In a statement Lincolnshire Police said:

"Members of the public should expect to see officers in the area, but we want to reassure the community we are taking this incident extremely seriously and are already pursuing a number of lines of enquiry.

"Officers are asking members of the public to avoid the area as they carry out their investigations.

"We are now appealing for information as we believe there were multiple witnesses to this incident.
