Autistic businesswoman finalist for Inspirational Woman of the Year Award

Lincolnshire-based business owner, Stephanie Wilson, is heading to the House of Parliament as a finalist for Inspirational Woman of the Year Award.

This accolade is being presented as part of the Global Woman Awards, which take place this Friday on International Women’s Day.

Stephanie Wilson, balancing roles as a graduate in accounting, law, and a mother of five, founded "She's in Business" to assist professional women in establishing successful consulting firms.

Despite challenges related to autism and anxiety, Stephanie's venture has earned her significant accolades and allowed her to offer free business training to over 7,000 women worldwide.

Stephanie said:

"It’s an honour to have been nominated for this award. Despite having my qualifications, it was difficult to find work and make it through interview processes due to my neurodiversity.

This recognises Stephanie’s contributions to her ability to lead

"With the support of funding such as the Access to Work Grant, I was able to build my business which is thriving. I have now made it my mission to inspire and support women, which I do through my free training programmes."

According to the National Autistic Society, only 16% of autistic adults are in full time employment in the UK.

Global Woman Awards 2024 is a celebration of extraordinary women who are making significant contributions and fostering positive change worldwide.

Mirela Sula, Founder of Global Woman Awards, said:
