Lincoln City, Scunthorpe United, and Boston United have big games today as they aim to take a step closer to promotion in their respective leagues.

The Imps are expecting a packed LNER stadium for the visit of champions Portsmouth this lunchtime knowing a win should be enough to secure a league one play off place.

Steve Freestone is from the Red Imps Community Trust:

"We're sort of one game away from the playoffs. If we don't do it - we've done very very well this season, we've improved on last year.

"If we do do it then the nerves are going to continue for another two games."

He says promotion would be massive for the club:

"It would be absolutely beyond wildest dreams, you know it's always going to be a 50/50.

"We've failed so many times at Wembley or at Cardiff. It would be nice if this time the coin comes the right way round for us."

There's a huge local derby in the National League North play off semi-final as Scunthorpe United host Boston United.

Promotion to the National League is potentially two wins away for the Iron or the Pilgrims.

One of Scunthorpe United's fans Scott Wilkinson told us it would mean a lot to push forward:

"It means a massive deal. I've just started taking my two children in the last three or four years and they've seen nothing but a downward spiral.

"So to have a bit of success it would mean a lot to me but I think it means more to my children."

The Attis Arena at Glanford Park will host the match after the Pilgrims overcame Alfreton Town on Tuesday night, winning 5-4 on penalties following a goalless 120 minutes of action.

Boston United fan Lee Wilcox is hopeful:

"We've drawn with them twice this season so it could go either way.

"Even possibly penalties again which I hope it doesn't.

"But yeah I think we've got a great chance, a great squad, and great management".
